MADISON COUNTY MEMORIAL HOSPITAL HAS ITS SECOND POSITIVE COVID-19 EMPLOYEE

Tammy Stevens, CEO of MCMH announced on June 5 its second employee, unrelated to the first positive employee, tested positive for COVID-19 on June 4.  Our hospital expresses heartfelt concern for the employee and reports the employee is doing well.

On June 5, the hospital notified the Florida Department of Health of Madison and the Agency for Health Care Administration.

Testing and surveillance continue for the employee COVID-19 first positive case.  To date, test results received have been negative.  Testing and surveillance are underway for the second confirmed employee.

Under the direction of Dr. Brett Perkins, MCMH Chief Medical Officer, as he leads the COVID-19 MCMH team, the hospital is continuing to take all necessary strict infection control precautions to protect the patients and the employees.

Ms. Stevens reports at this time, of the COVID-19 tests performed by MCMH, five emergency room patients have had a confirmed positive test result.  None of these patients were admitted to MCMH.
