I. Overview

Madison County Hospital Health Systems, Inc. (MCMHSI) is seeking proposals from qualified demolition contractors to provide all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to safely demolish the existing structures located at the project site in preparation for new construction.

Demolition must be performed in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local codes and regulations, with a focus on safety, environmental compliance, and site readiness for redevelopment.

II. Scope of Work

  • Furnish all labor, equipment, and materials for complete demolition and lawful disposal of all site structures
  • Coordinate with asbestos abatement contractor to confirm clearance prior to demo
  • Remove building foundations, slabs, sidewalks, and exterior appurtenances as directed by Owner or Design Team during pre-construction coordination
  • Remove above and below ground utilities to points specified in utility disconnect documentation
  • Backfill, compact, and grade site to a clean, level condition post-demo
  • Provide site fencing, signage, and erosion control as required
  • Maintain site security and public safety throughout

Note: A mandatory pre-bid site walk will be held to confirm site conditions and staging expectations.

III. Contractor Requirements

  • Active Florida contractor license
  • Proven experience with institutional-scale demolition projects
  • OSHA 30 certification for supervisory personnel
  • Liability insurance and workers compensation coverage
  • Compliance with City of Madison and Madison County permitting and debris disposal requirements

IV. Timeline (Updated – Tentative)

  • RFP Release Date: September 15, 2025
  • Mandatory Site Walkthrough: September 22, 2025
  • Proposals Due: September 29, 2025
  • Award Notification: October 3, 2025
  • Project Start (NTP): Within 5 days of abatement clearance (target October 7–10, 2025)
  • Demolition Completion Target: October 31, 2025 (or 3 weeks from NTP)

V. Proposal Content Requirements

  • Contractor name, POC, licensure, and relevant experience
  • Itemized cost proposal (labor, equipment, disposal, etc.)
  • Demolition work schedule and milestone chart
  • Insurance certificate and OSHA certifications
  • At least 2 references from recent comparable projects

Responses must be responsive to the requirements and questions of the Request for Qualifications.

Reservations: Madison County Health and Hospital District/Madison County Hospital Health Systems, Inc. dba Madison County Memorial Hospital reserves the right to reject any and all responses, to negotiate changes in the new scope of work or services to be provided, and to otherwise waive any technicalities or informalities.

Method of Selection: Responses will be reviewed by Madison County Health and Hospital District/Madison County Hospital Health Systems, Inc. dba Madison County Memorial Hospital which will recommend a ranking of firms. Presentations may or may not be required. Upon acceptance of the recommendation negotiations will proceed with the first ranked firm.

Please respond by including but not limiting your response to the following:

  1. Company name and length of time in business.
  2. Company location.
  3. Availability of staff to start and complete project.
  4. Insurance carrier, applicable coverage, and bonding limits.
  5. Qualifications of staff to be utilized on this project with names, short resumes, length of time with firm and previous clients. Experience must be with submitting firm.
  6. Names of five (5) previous jobs within the past five (5) years of similar scope, size, and complexity with phone numbers and contact person.
  7. Description of previous experience, to include construction method, budget, final cost, time schedule, change orders, etc.
  8. Recommendations for scope of work maximum of two pages
