Madison County Memorial Hospital welcomes noted gastroenterologist James W. Stockwell, M.D., to its medical staff. Dr. Stockwell is the widely respected founder of the Digestive Disease Clinic in Tallahassee.
“Bringing specialists to Madison County is part of our hospital's mission,” CEO David Abercrombie said. Dr. Stockwell praised the efforts saying, “It’s good for the community because local services lead to better prevention, and early intervention. I am very interested in spreading the important message to Madison County adults about being screened for colorectal cancer. ”
Dr. Stockwell received his medical education from the University of Miami Medical School. He is board certified in internal medicine and specializes in gastroenterology. He has practiced in Tallahassee, where he co-founded the Tallahassee Digestive Disease Clinic. He has practiced medicine for over thirty years and is a leading gastroenterologist in the Big Bend area.
